As we mark the 20th anniversary of September 11th, we remember the profound shock and realization of vulnerability we felt as we watched the World Trade Center towers collapse. This tragedy revealed the limits of our defenses and reminded us of our need for God. Despite the absence of easy answers for why suffering occurs, it strips away our illusions of self-sufficiency and highlights our dependence on divine support. In the face of fear and uncertainty, the Bible assures us of God’s presence and protection, urging us to find refuge in Him and pray for the comfort of those who lost loved ones.
