Leo Kryss, the man who sold his luxurious $79 million mansion near Miami Beach to Jeff Bezos, has filed a lawsuit against the realtor who handled the transaction, claiming that the identity of the buyer was concealed, potentially costing him millions. Kryss, co-founder of Brazilian toy and electronics company Tectoy, alleges that the real estate firm Douglas Elliman and its CEO, Jay Parker, misrepresented the identity of the buyer, telling him Bezos was not involved in the purchase.

Kryss originally listed the seven-bedroom, 14-bathroom estate on Indian Creek Island for $85 million. Bezos had already purchased the neighboring property for $68 million, and later, anonymously, made an offer of $79 million for Kryss’s estate. According to the lawsuit, Kryss inquired whether Bezos was behind the offer, but Parker allegedly denied it, stating the buyer would not increase the bid beyond $79 million.

Kryss claims that if he had known Bezos was the buyer, he would not have agreed to reduce the price by 7%. The lawsuit suggests that Kryss was led to believe the estate was being bought for the family of Indian Creek’s mayor, Benny Klepach, through the real estate agent, Celine Klepach, who is the mayor’s daughter. Kryss only discovered that Bezos was the purchaser after the deal had been finalized.

Kryss believes this misinformation may have cost him up to $6 million, as he would have likely held firm on the original asking price if he’d known the Amazon founder was behind the offer.

Indian Creek Island, also known as “Billionaire Bunker,” is home to numerous high-profile residents, including Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and retired NFL star Tom Brady. The lawsuit, filed by Kryss, accuses Douglas Elliman of failing to disclose critical information about the sale. The real estate firm has declined to comment on the situation.

    Key Points:

    i. Leo Kryss, the seller of a $79 million mansion, is suing Douglas Elliman for allegedly concealing Jeff Bezos as the buyer.

ii. Kryss claims he would not have lowered the price by 7% if he had known Bezos was the purchaser.

iii. The realtor allegedly misled Kryss, suggesting the property was being bought for the family of Indian Creek’s mayor.

iv. Kryss could have lost up to $6 million due to the reduced sale price, according to the lawsuit.

    v. Indian Creek Island, known as “Billionaire Bunker,” is home to other high-profile residents such as Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and Tom Brady.
